Being mindful of people includes being mindful of their information. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect through this website, why, and what happens to it.
Who we are
People Mind Consulting is an HR consultancy based in South Africa and is the “responsible party” for personal information collected through this website, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). If you have any question about your information, email us at hello@peoplemind.co.za.
What we collect
If you contact us: your name, email address and message.
If you apply for a role: your name, email address, phone number and LinkedIn profile (both optional), your CV, an optional short introduction video, and anything you write in your application.
If you complete an online assessment: your answers, an optional recording in which you talk through your work, and basic activity signals during the test (such as the window losing focus) that help us keep assessments fair.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we collect it
We use this information solely for recruitment and to respond to your enquiries: reviewing applications, running fair skills assessments, introducing candidates to prospective employers, and considering candidates for future roles that fit their profile. We process it on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit the application form.
How long we keep it
Videos are temporary. Your introduction and assessment-walkthrough videos are automatically deleted 60 days after the recruitment process you took part in closes (whether you were appointed or not successful).
Your CV and details stay on file so we can consider you for future opportunities — unless you ask us to delete them, which you can do at any time.
Who we share it with
We share candidate information with prospective employers as part of the recruitment process — that is the purpose of applying. We also use trusted service providers to run this website: hosting, email delivery, and AI-assisted grading of technical assessment answers (your answers are shared with the AI provider for grading only; scoring is reviewed by a person and hiring decisions are always made by people). We never sell personal information.
How we protect it
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled systems that only People Mind Consulting can reach. Assessment results are only visible to our team, never to other candidates.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us at any time to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. Email hello@peoplemind.co.za and we will respond promptly. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
